Successful conclusion to the Optical Communication in Networks workshop!

Twelve invited speakers, four moderators/presiders, and four facilitators came together with over 90 attendees in this highly participatory workshop toward the establishment of a roadmap for intelligent optical aggregation networks. Conclusions and recommendations for future research will be summarized in a roadmap report.

Author Milton Chang donates books to help
OSA Foundation's fundraising efforts

Author, entrepreneur, and investor Milton Chang has donated 1,000 copies of his new book, Toward Entrepreneurship: Establishing a Successful Technology Business, to the OSA Foundation. Proceeds from sales of the books will be donated to the OSA Foundation and matched 100 percent by the Optical Society (OSA). To qualify, books must be purchased through the OSA Foundation website for a minimum donation of $20 USD (retail price: $35).

Toward Entrepreneurship is based on Chang's personal experiences as a scientist and entrepreneur in the optics and photonics industry. It covers all facets of starting and managing a company—from identifying an idea, starting and running a company, to selling the business.
