William David Wright earned his B.Sc in 1928 and his Ph.D. in 1930 from Imperial College, London. He specialized in color vision, throughout his career. Over the course of his career, Wright published five books, and received the 1975 C.E.K. Mees Medal from OSA.

Wright passed away in 1997.
