Michael Bass received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He is now Professor Emeritus of Optics at the University of Central Florida. He is a Fellow of OSA and IEEE. In 2014, he received OSA’s R.W. Wood Prize “for the discovery of optical rectification which led to the development of very wide band terahertz wave sources.”
